Hey everyone-

Today was my 35-week ultrasound to check on LO's weight, growth, and position. Everything went extremely well! We got a wonderful view of her face with her eyes opening and mouth closing and opening. She had the hiccups the entire time we were there. Ha! The only sort of bad news is that she already weighs 6.5 lbs!!!!! She still has 5 more weeks to go and they say at this stage babies put on .5-1lb a week. They are going to check me in 3 weeks to see her weight again and if she's still growing fast then they may induce me. 3 weeks!! Ah! Well anyway, for now, the doctor says she is healthy and she's in position and ready to go. They have no concern for her weight as all they can do now is routinely check on it.

DH says, "Well you always loved chunky babies, now it looks like we're going to have one ourselves." Haha! We even got a picture of her hair. They were able to point it out on the ultrasound. Very cool!

I am so glad it all went well! I am expecting a hugemoungous boy - unless he has stopped growing!! If she does keep growing, at least you wont have to wait so long to hold her!

Aww, that's great news! As long as she is healthy, that is all that matters.

were there worries re the babies size, is that why they scanned you at 35 weeks or os that standard where you live?

It is standard at my doctor's to get an ultrasound again between 33-36 weeks. They do an anatomy scan at 18-22 weeks and then a position/weight scan between 33-36 weeks. The ultrasound that I will have in 3 weeks though is not routine and they are only doing it to check on her weight.
