Lookin forward to VBAC but worried about my 4ft 11in height!

I previously had an emergency c-section with my son 3 years ago, the complications were - dilated to 6cm but no more, he was in the posterior position (back to back), his heart rate dropped as he was distrssed.

Now I am looking forward to a natural birth with this one though I am concerned as I'm only 4ft 11in and have been told this can affect the size of my pelvis, I've also been told (by my doctor!) my feet also come into consideration, i'm a size 3 apparently this would calculate the width of my pelvis!

Are there any other 4ft 11in mums out there that have given birth naturally? Or anyone in a similar situation as me? I'd love to hear from other mums!

p.s my mum is also my height though alot slimmer and she has 4 c-sections

I'm 5'3" and size 4 shoes and had my son vaginally in 4 hours, my gran was 4'11", size 3 and had 10 children naturally - 9 of them were over 10lbs!! Plus 2 of my friends have size 7 feet and both had to have c-sections because their pelvises were too small.

Im 4ft 10 and have been told the same thing. I had a c-section the first time because he was breech. I had him turned but he didn't engaged and labour didn't progress at all.

This time I didn't engage till last week and was told I prob wouldn't because my pelvis was too small. I went to see a chiropractor (as I really want a natural birth and will try anything) who had a play around with my spin and pelvis........and what do you know baby engaged. Im now due tomorrow and 2/5s engaged with a few back pains and what im thinking are contractions.

Don't listen to these people. Woman smaller than us have been giving birth to babies for as long as there have been humans. When it comes to it your body will do what it has to.

My advice would be do as much research as you possible can. The more you know the better. Don't just take their word for it.

Good luck and stay positive.

I am not pregnant but have had one child under an emergency caesarean. I am 4ft 11 and got size 2 feet - I am really worried to even bother to try and have a vbac as everyone tells me i probably wont be able to do it. I think i will ask my consultant (when the time comes..)
