Yay for games and the internet yes? | You wouldn't believe the stories about hubby and I... we were massive PvP'ers PRIOR to all the adjustments in that from a year ago. We were PvPing almost non-stop from the time we got home from work to two or three in the morning just to maintain our pvp status week to week. Weekends were entirely wow. It was absolute insanity. Thank God blizzard fixed that.
I think Hubby was something like 15th on the server and I was 29th. (He got to play a little more than me.)
Yes, addiction is exactly the word I would use. Hubby wants to start playing again (we stopped playing very seriously about this time last year). But with the baby coming, I just can't bring myself to open the program We both let our accounts go dormant.
I love to game, but I want to be able to say "alright, I'm done" and not feel like I've got a bunch of loose ends. With WoW, there's always something more to do it seems... one more quest, one more fish to catch, one more gold to earn, one more auction to scour, one more piece of gear to try for...
We lived on Greymane, and were both members of the same guild for a year or better (Old School) before meeting. Both my brothers (who are still regular WoW players) had played with him, and they knew eachother that way.
My DD actually was the one who hooked us up, DH was looking for another member for a ZF run and she offered me to go (I was making dinner quick). And it went from there. Within a week or two we were inseperable on the game, we were speaking for a couple hours a night on Ventrilo, and so it was for the next year or so. We made several trips to see eachother over that time (he lived in TX), and I'm in the Dakotas. June of last year, he decided enough was enough, we had to pick one state or the other, so he ended up moving up here after he proposed the end of June.
Yah, WoW has brought a lot of people together, but I'm sure for every couple that has hooked up, one has been divided because of it. "Wife aggro" you know It should never come to a choice between WoW and family. I miss it, but yet I don't. I forgot what the sun looked like

I'm Currently Feeling: | Marg~ I completely understand and know what you mean. Its such a fun game but I wish it wasn't so soul sucking. Like you said, something always needed to be done. One more run through an instance, needed to check the auction house at least every hour . I finally got my first 70 last year after going through countless of alts and hours. Thats actually when I stopped playing, I too forgot what the sun was. I didn't even want to go out anymore, just wanted to play. My hubby was the same but with a different game, DDO (Dungeons and Dragons). So we both decided to finally take a break and wait for something else that we both would enjoy to play (he hated WoW and I hated DDO ). Something that won't have us hooked, that we can play without feeling like we have to go back and do something. (its been a year since we both touched an MMO)
So next month we're going to try a new MMO, which starts off as just a SRPG and then at a certain level turns into a MMO (Age of Conan) I don't think it will be like WoW where you have to invest tons of time to get *uber*.
You know whats sad? Hearing you talk about ZF and everything else really made me miss *WoW talk* . I think its cause I've been going through withdrawals these past few months . |
