There was a BF session that we thought that my OH couldn't attend because of work and our teacher said it was fine for me to attend on my own, not to worry and that if he had questions or felt like he had missed out he could get in touch with her. Like a few others have said, I suppose it depends on the teacher. The impression that I got from my BF sessions and labour day class were that if you were on your own you would very much be supported by the NCT, but then again, I'm not in that position so it's just an opinion!

A few posters have commented about the "type" of people who attend. Our class was unusually small, only three couples, but we were all in our 30s and all professionals! But we were all very different which made it lots of fun.

I really enjoyed my NCT classes, I had done a lot of Reading about birth so wasn't sure what I would learn, but it was great to run through things with people at the same stage as you. I went on my own most of the time as hubby is in the forces posted away but it was never a problem and I met 7 other ladies in my area who I meet regularly now and are great for support! Worth every penny to me xx

I would have loved to have gone to meet people, but after the initial conversation, the NCT teacher didn't return my 2 phone calls.....was very disappointed !

Our NCT classes were great and we've met 5 other lovely couples whom we hope to keep in touch with. Highly recommend!
