how far in ur lady garden should we put epo?

i have jus been slipping on inside every few days or so and taking them orally everyday.... but cousin tells me for it have an effect it needs to go middle finger length in... is that even safe to be poking around myself that far in? i jus did it (curiosity) and well... seems ok?

Hi sorry chick didn't see that u had asked that! It's supposed to soften the cervix - won't bring on labour early, but once ur body IS ready it will help it to work more effectively, u hear different things from diff people but general rule is take orally from a certain week, and then up the amount u take at about 37/38 weeks and alongside that can then start inserting 1 or 2 orally - sorry to be fuzzy with the facts.. but it depends what dosage they are as i've had 300mg ones, and am now on 500mg, some people get 1000mg or even 1300mg! so would differ how many u could take and when. But alot of people recommend it, apparently is most effective when swallowed and allowed to work through ur tummy, but is also beneficial slipped up inside u, hope that helps & sorry for the delayed reply x

had a couple of cramps with it, but not done anything substantial yet - but then not had my cervix checked, here's to hoping tho!

I read that even if you dont insert, you can still get the effects through any skin really so I would say just insert as far as you are comfortable with and it should be ok. I wouldnt do anything that makes you worry

I havent started mine, will do it next week, I have just started taking them orally this week. I read to do it orally at 34weeks and inserting at 36.

How many a day are you swallowing? I am doing just the one at the moment. Anyone think I should be taking more

Omg I have never heard of this and finding it quite concerning. Is there a medical reason for needing your cervix softening?? If not why are people using them???? Nature will soften your cervix!lol!

Are these an American thing as iv'e never heard of them and as a student midwife would like to know more????
