Midwife care YAY

Hi girls hope you and bumps are all well.

I had my 28 week midwife appointment this morning. She did the usual checks, bp 110/60, urine NAD, now measuring bang on 28 weeks which is good. Baby head down and free baby hb 150-160bpm so all really good.

Coz i had to have a section with my DD2 last year i am having to see the consultant. She booked me an appointment for the 8th March when i will be 34 weeks, and then went on to tell me that as long as everything continues to be ok with pregnancy, that it is just routine to see the consultant (coz of previous section) and i will be in midwife care in the hospital and they will let me be as mobile as possible whilst labouring. If i go overdue they will still offer me a sweep and induction te only thing that i cannot have is prostin (which i knew anyway)

YAY anyway maybe a bit of a pointless post i am just glad that i will not be strapped to a bed unable to move as i really want this to be a positive birth.

My midwife is also awesome and signed my Sure start Maternity grant form and post dated it for me for wed .

xxxx

yey.. nice to hear you had a good appointment. I'm seeing my midwife on monday when I'll be bang on 28 weeks. I haven't seen her since I was 16 weeks(!!) So I'm keen to be checked over. Feels like I've been left alone for too long now in this pregnancy. When is your next appointment booked for? Do they come a bit more regulare now we're in 3rd tri?

xxx

my next one is for 31 weeks she said that they would want to see us 2 weekly now until 36 weeks then it will be weekly. I think that it is pretty much the same everywhere?? Is this ur first baby, i thought u would have had an appointment sometime after your 20 weeks scan its always nice to get checked over and be reassured that everything is ok xxx

No this is baby number 5 for me! .... but with my last child (5 years ago) I saw a midwife A LOT more than this. I saw them at 12, 16, 20, 24, 28.. then down to every two weeks, then every week from 36 weeks. I kinda feel like they've deserted me a bit with this one. I know I'm an old hat at all this.. but in my opinion, every pregnancy is different regardless of how many children you've had. I've done nothing but worry since my 20 week scan. xx

oh no poor you! I was told that this time i wouldnt have as many appointments coz it was my 3rd but i feel like there have been plenty lol I had booking 16 week, 21 week, 24 week and then today had my 28 week. They have been nicely spaced too. I dont think that you should have less because you have had a bay before coz like you said every baby and pregnancy is different.
I would have been the same as you worrying constantly. Not long to wait for you now and then hopefully u will be getting fortnightly appointments Do you now what flavour ur bump is? xxx

Yep.. not long to go. ..... and no we don't know what we're having. I knew with all my others and my OH wanted it to be a surprise with this one. It's certainly made it more interesting! I'm so curious and it's driving me nuts referring to the baby as 'it' lol. What about you? xx

P.S .. I have 3 girls and 1 boy so far. I think a boy would be nice to even it out a bit.

I just cant believe how quickly it goes when you have other little ones to look after as well

yes it does go quick. 2nd trimester seemed to fly by! I hope 3rd goes just as fast! My youngest has just started nursery half days... so that seems to make time go quicker. This has been a hard pregnancy for me. The others were fairly easy, but with this one I'm a lot more tired and getting bigger quicker with more aches and pains. No more for me now!! I had my other children in my 20's. I'm 31 now. Dunno if it's something to do with my age. Think my body has had enough. lol.

Is this going to be ur last? We have discussed it but we are not 100% sure yet we will just wait n see how we feel i think.

I feel very like that this time around too lol and i am only on my 3rd and im 24 lol i must not be as strong as u, i think coz DD2 is only just turning 1 as well i didnt give myself a lot of time and she is a very sicky baby (acid reflux) which is just starting to get better now. People are worrying me saying that 3 girls will be hard work but i dont think that it will be any harder than having 2 girls lol xxx
