Please hit me if need be... But i am having a major panic today!

As the title says lol...

Basically i woke up this morning... and realised "OMG 5 weeks and the baby will be here"

And then people have told me my bump has dropped... and instead of being happy it has worried me anymore!!

It seems the closer i get the more worried i am becoming!!

I really feel scared! i just want to run away and hide!!

Sounds the same as me. OH was saying last night after I threw up..."don't worry he'll be here soon" and I was just thinking....argh! It's easier to look after him when he's still in my belly, I'm worried I'll be crap at actually looking after him when he's born.

Maybe it's normal to go through a phase like this at the stage we're at? xx

Sounds perfectly normal to me. I don't know if I am freaking out more about the birth or actually having a baby at home.

I am the same! 3 weeks on Tuesday eek!! I keep feeling totally chilled one minute and even excited, then all of a sudden out of nowhere I feel like I am suffocating and cannot breathe properly! I don't even feel like leaving the house now in case I get an unexpected panic up town! I have read a few posts similar to this and I am pleased it is normal. I think if we were cocky and thinking "this is gonna be a breeze" we'd have a hell of a shock coming to us!
Being uptight is supposed to slow things down and I dont want that because if I go over the 42 weeks I will have to go to the main hospital miles away and I want to give birth in my home town. Its a fear of the unknown ladies, and I am shitting myself!!!!!!!

It is all becoming too real all of a sudden tho!! I mean i give up work on friday and then its like... baby will be here, and i still have soo much stuff to wash and get ready!!

I got made redundant just before xmas so have been off from about 33 or 34 weeks, which was probably a tad too early as it has given me time to think too much, but I think this thinking and stress can be all good and part and parcel of it.
2 weeks ago our baby's head started to engage and the midwife said she could come early and I hadn't even packed my bag. It was like the biggest bombshell ever but after about an hour of panicking, I felt calm and excited. We are pregnant for 40 odd weeks but only realise it after 30 - how mad is that! No sign whatsoever of baby though, if anything she feels like she has moved back up! Aaagh confusing!

when i got to 30 weeks it scared me because it was like oh i have 10 weeks to go... and now im 35 weeks its like oh dear i have 5 weeks to go.

I thought i would feel happier after 32 weeks and then 34 weeks because i was soo worried about baby coming at these times... My OH was born at 32 weeks and me at 34 so of course for some reason my brain desided it could happen to me.. when my mw did tell me not too worry about it... but it was always there. so every extra week after that i have just been worrying now

I guess it is normal... because i guess its just a fear of the unknown maybe
