oh my gosh, i was going to post the exact same thing! like you i've been quite regular up until the last few days... haven't been once! i'm a little anemic so on iron tablets which can block things up a bit but i've been on the tablets for several weeks now and i never had a problem going until 3 days ago! i need to go as well because i'm getting pains in my shoulder (a definite sign for me) but when i sit on the loo... nothing! even after eating loads of prunes! i'm wondering whether i can risk coming off the iron until i can go and then get back on it? i'm scared if i don't poo soon i know i will while giving birth gosh, i hope not! let me know if you find a remedy that works x

Eat all bran or weetabix, they really help me. Also i changed from iron tablets to iron liquid and it helped stop me getting consipated. Plenty of fluid as well.

I hope this may help a bit hun, I found this info on a website a few weeks back when I was really clogged up (sorry bad term, but it was so how I felt lol)
The pineapple may even help bring on labour so it may have a double effect and the apricots when mixed in with some weetabix were by far the most successful for me along with upping my fluid intake.

"Foods that have special recognition as laxatives include almonds, apricots (dried), avocados, chicory, coconut, dandelion (yes get out in your garden and eat those dandelion leaves, so long as they have no chemicals on them!), dates, endive, figs, flaxseed, grapes, mango's, olive, papayas, parsley, persimmons, pineapple, prunes, rhubarb, soybeans, turnips, walnuts, watercress.

Lack of water in your system is a large contributing factor to constipation. Water is essential to many bodily actions and elimination of waste is very high on the list. NOT tea, coffee or soft drink, but pure WATER. Add some lemon or fresh fruit juice for flavour if needed, but drink water!

Juicing is a fantastic way of getting essential foods in a fast acting and refreshing way. A variety of delicious juices can be made if you have a juicing machine, alternatively fresh juices can be purchased. Avoid those made from concentrate and try to always buy organic juices. Prune juice is top of the list as a laxative, but apple-pear, asparagus and potato are also good."

Hope you find some comfort soon. xx
