Question

How many caloiries should I be eating now?


2500, right? Or am I still meant to be eating what I was pre-pregnancy?

aghhh now this is the area i am qualified in, totally depend huns, on your daily energy expenditure....so how much you are walking around and how physically active you are?, But they do recommend an added 500kcal on top of what you were eating pre pregnancy at your stage. So if you used to eat 2000kcal pre pregnancy a day, then yes 2500kcal is the right amount for you xx

I didn't used to eat anything before I got pregnant. I was going through a weird teenage starving myself thin stage. I didn't eat more than 300 calories a day most days.

I'm just going to eat what my body is telling me I need I guess.

in that case, eat what you feel you need, some days i only want 1500, other days its 3000kcal. You get to know your body and generally know when you are hungry xx

I try to eat 2500, but some days I'm just not hungry! some other days though I could eat loads.

Before I was pregnant I use to eat 900, which isn't much but I really wanted to stay skinny...

Yes, before the baby I would eat very very little, but now I honestly don't pay attention to calories. In my eyes everything is edible and numbers don't exist anymore.

is it wrong i couldnt tell you how many calories were in anything!!!
i dont and have never checked :S i guess i just try and eat in moderation

Nah I don't calorie count either, I don't think calories are the most important thing to watch when you're trying to keep healthy. If that was the case, you could eat like 3 bars of choccy all day and thats it, and be really below the 2000 cals, but not be healthy. If that makes sense.

I tend to just eat what I want, but rather than snacking on crisps I eat fruit, and we try to have loads of veg with our main meal now as well.

Ive heard 500 cals extra though is recommended
