Beware of amazon

Sorry if posted in wrong area

So ive just checked my online banking to notice 49.00 has dissappeared so i went to the bank to ask why as this is the only money i have until the 28th , so they tell me amazon has taken it, i was like well i dont even use amazon ( i set up an account and never used it), so she said something about amazon prime membership??????? so i come back home to check the amazon account and yep i apparently registered to become a prime member (which i never bloody did) its someting you need to opt out of when you sign up to which i didnt know so anyway i have managed to cancl the prime membership and should be getting a refund after the payment is fully taken out of the bank as its processing so it looks like i wont get my money back until end of next week maybe begining of the next which leaves me with a huge £4.50 .

Sorry if the thread is pointless but just like to make you aware of this so it doesnt happen to anyone else and sorry if its posted in the wrong area.

xx

If it's the same setup/signup as in the US, they do tell you that you need to cancel it before the free trial is up.

I actually love having Amazon Prime and pay for the service, which we share with my hubby's parents and a couple of his brothers since it's not limited to a single/person acct and can be shared with family. Free 2 day shipping to indulge my impulse shopping for 'must have now,' or 'Oh crap, their birthday is when?' is totally worth it!
