Sickness Bug & Dont know how to help myself x


My partner had a vomitting bug earlier this week which lasted about 18-20 hours, he still feels a little off colour but is more or less ok now.

I've had a mild chesty cold since mid dec which has come and gone several times. I started vomitting last night and was sick every 45 mins through til 8am this morning. Once the food had been brought back up i was just bringing up clear phlegm. I kept drinking water but was bringing majority of this up and at 8am i had a cold can of fizzy pop. I fell asleep for an hour and a half but woke up thirsty, i had a glass of squash and 30 mins later was sick.

Im constantly thirsty and can seem to tolerate the squash better than plain water. Since 11am i slept through til 4:30, i had some squash and was ok, 30mins later i tried dry toast but struggled to eat it but did, 30 mins later i vomitted the toast and squash up. I seem to be going longer between being sick, but am worried about not keeping anything down. I feel a whole lot better as daft as it sounds but have developed acid reflux too,

how can i help myself for some bizzare reason sugary things seem to be suiting me as opposed to plain foods/liquids, i dont feel hungry or weak and if i wasnt pregnant id just sit it out another day, any suggestions??

You're keeping some stuff down for a little while, so it's not too bad. I'd probably wait it out and keep doing small sips. I always found sipping coke or ginger ale when sick worked best.

i'd say just try small amounts of whatever you can handle, but if your not keeping much liquids down at all by tomorrow to give NHS direct a ring for some advice. Hope you feel better! x
