When does the real weight go on?

I was petrified I would put on loads of weight, but got weighed this morning and am 3lbs up on pre-pregnancy. Very happy about that. But as a fatty I am not supposed to put loads on and I don't post on how much I have put on in any threads.

However I am intrigued as to when the real weight plonks on? How much are you expected to put on in third tri? I've heard a pound a week, but is that from 27 weeks or what? How much weight can I expect to have gained by full term - 14 pounds, 21, 28?

(Hope this isn't taken the wrong way by anyone)

most of my weight went on from 30+ weeks. Hadnt gained much until then!

Its different for everyone, my MW said from 36 weeks thats when the weight starts pilling on, so i would say realistically expect to put another stone or so on, which is still good seeing as you havent gained hardly any, me on the other hand iv gained over 3 stones x

I'm 36 weeks now and I've only put on a stone from pre-pregnancy to now. I think my weight gain is mostly baby and fluid as I don't seem to have put on weight anywhere else. xx

I've put on about 2 stone already

Too scared to weigh myself now and really dreading the weight piling on between now and the birth. I've read that from 30 weeks you should expect to put on 1lb per week x

i had a big growth spurt between 27 wks and now :S i look like a weeble lol.

For me it was from about 31 weeks i started gaining most significantly but i think a lot of it is water retention

I didnt put anything on until 21 weeks, then between 21 weeks and to 25 weeks i put on 11lb, got weighed yesterday and have lost 1lb since 25 weeks... xx

I have been wondering this. I was overweight before pregnancy and must of lost a lot during with sickness and nausier as im a few pound under what i started. I have lost weight everywhere and gained a bump. My ticker says 1lb a week from now on.

I'm guessing its different for everyone, I put on 12lbs in the first 32 weeks and then between 32 and 33 weeks I piled on 6lbs in one week! Gave me a shock!

Bit scared of weighing myself next week now
