what should i do?

The other day, i posted about how i was having some really painful cramps in the middle of the night which were waking me up.

Well last night, I had the same again. It felt like strong period cramps, but the pain was going down into my hips and round my back. I kept getting woken up every half hour or so i would guess but dont know exactly. Ive not got any pains now, except feeling very bruised in my tummy. Baby seems actve still. What should I do, is this normal?

Only problem is, if I ring the midwife and she asks me to go in, my car has a flat battery so we've no way of getting there, so obviously i dont wanna ring her unless something could be wrong. Anyone had similar and been given any advice as to what to do?

I've no idea hun, didn't want to read and run. The best you can do is wait and see if the cramps come back, if they do try timing them and if you feel you need to phone MW then try getting in touch with a relative or friend with a car to see if they can take you in just in case you need to go. Try relaxing in a warm bath and take a couple off paracetamol to see if it takes the aches away. Hope you feel better soon and keep me updated.

Well my situation isn't quite the same as yours but last night my OH and I went out for dinner but as soon as we arrived at the curry house my BP went through the roof (I could feel my pulse in my forehead and in my scalp!!) and I started to get an excrutiating stitch like pain down my right side and quite strong period cramps around the bottom of my bump. I tried to sit it out for a while but decided it wasn't getting any better so made my OH take me home. Well I had difficulty just walking up the path to my house and as soon as I got into the house was on all fours!! Didn't really know what to do for the best but decided to ring the hospital to speak to a midwife- better to be safe than sorry. She asked me to come straight in, which I did and they monitored me for about an hour, by which time the pains had subsided. The doctor had a quick chat with my but said baby was fine and that I was ok to go home. They left me hooked up to machine that measured the babies heart rate and any uterine activity and when the nurse came to discharge me, she looked at the readings and my uterus was contracting at quite regular intervals. She asked if the doctor had done an internal examination, which I said no so she disappeared off with the monitor results. The next thing I know the doctor is back saying that she was going to have to run some further tests to find out if I was likely to go into labour. They did an internal exam and took some swabs, they were checking to see if there were any amniotic cells this side of my cervix, which could indicate that I may go into labour within the next 2 weeks. The long and short of it was that the tests were clear and I got sent home with no real answers as to what had happened. The only thing I do know is that they are 99.2% sure I won't go into labour in the next 2 weeks. My uterus however is still contrating a lot today but obviously not anywhere close as painful as it was last night, but apparently its fine. I guess the moral of my tale is that it is always best to get checked out as there are things they can do if you are going into pre-term labour, but if you're not then at least you will know that everything is alright and normal!!!!

hun honestly i would call MW. And you need to make sure that you have a standby that will take you to the hospital if you car has a dead battery incase you do go into labour or anything. Im so paranoid that someone wont be around to take me to the hospital but have a couple of people willing to take me incase no ones about.
Personally i would call the MW and see what she says and if she suggests you to go to the hospital and you have no way of getting there then could you not call taxi? If you really need to go in the labour ward will send out an abulance
