Mad.

I know me and Rich are up and down but in the end it always works out. Anyway, he called me today to say that while he's on paternity leave he is going to be on call. Why the hell?! I know they can't do that. I've demanded he speaks to someone about it. He'll be on for a week from the 7th June. I know my LO will definately be here by then, but seriously, I want him around for the first few days atleast!

Does he usually get called in frequently while on call?

I can see where you're coming from, you want him to be there to help you out, especially those first few weeks

Sorry to hear. Hopefully he can talk to them beforehand to get it sorted out.

Hmm, he gets called more at weekends. Once or twice a day during the week. Alot of the jobs are far away though. He'll be gone hours at a time. Plus, he's going to be so tired! It's not really fair on them to expect him to do that right away. We're both going to be adjusting.

I thought that you were entitled to the 2 weeks without any interference from work (calls etc) I'm not sure but it doesn't sound fair to me. Surely that should be your time together! xx xx

He should definitely speak with his boss about having at least a few days off. My DH made sure to tell his boss that he needs a week off after the arrival of our LO. Make sure he gets firm with them as well, I'm sure they'll understand why he needs the time off.

Try not to think about it too much. It's best he gets it sorted out ASAP but don't fret over it.
