Does ANYTHING work to bring on labour???

Ive totally came to the conclusion (and its taken a while) that NOTHING works. The baby comes when they are ready.Been on RLT knowing it doesnt bring on labour but hoping it does, pineapples till me mouth is sore, had sex more times than is comfortable (and really annoyed with OH these days so major sacrifice on my part lol) and had that many hot curries the guys at my curry shop know me by name and have told me they'll deliver to labour suite.......ive drove myself crazy reading every signs of labour/labour story there is on internet looking for signs and thinking....OOOH thats me!!! and NOTHING! Ive gave up. And its not because i hate being pregnant, im just so ready to meet this little person and to start this new chapter of my life, i cant wait to see OH holding his first son, for my daughter to be the amazing big sister i know she will be....im just so impatient but have driven myself crazy with signs, symptoms and trying to make it happen that now im like....enough! something in me has said enough.......oooh,maybe thats a sign too

Pleas tell me im not alone/obsessive.......ive been losing my mucus plug for weeks, having that many BH im quite enjoying them, its mad, they really do just come when theyre ready! Imagine just realising that with 6 days to go!

I truely think that some things may *help* but they will only help if your body is really ready and is about to go anyway. Like basically imagine something hanging on by a wee piece of string that just needs a teeny pull and it will snap. That is how I imagine it. When the body is very nearly about to go into labour. I may be wrong but that is my thoughts on it. oodluck x

Totally think you're right, i do actually think that too but know that way where ive been getting signs something may happen so ive been doing things to give it a wee nudge in right direction but it hasnt happened.... its just gets me frustrated and its all my own doing lol.....i tell you, im becoming OBSESSED!!! Never mind, another curry, pineapple and night of passion this weekend surely wont hurt and might be be right time for it too

oh my goodness did u read the post about the lady who had curry and pineapple to try and bring on labour?? lol someone posted it the other day saying how a lady in the hospital had had that to bring on labour and it also gave her an upset tummy so the birthing pool was full of diarrhoea and when baby was breastfed the milk was funny coz of all the pineapple or something and gave baby a sore tummy. She might have had ALOT of it though lol. i don't think i would fancy going into labour with an upset tummy. i will probably try lots of walking and sex lol. Although I have no interest in sex right now I told OH we will be doin it regardless
x

i honestly dont think anything really works when things do 'work' i think its just a coincidence this is coming from someone whos baby was a week early i dont think its anything i did as i tried most things i just think its a case of baby will come when babys ready other wise if these things work then no one would go overdue would they

NOOOO....lol.... will rethink the curry or pineapple now, so want the birthing pool but not with the extra mess. Plus my OH would tell EVERYONE!! Imagine it affecting breastfeeding,i did not know that, saying that, my daughter used to be sick after BF with a certain thing i drank, cant remember now what it was! Been trying to get out walking but the snow is crazy here at moment and even going down my path is terrible but hopefully if it clears ill get out more..... lol, its my OH that has no interest in sex just now,my last MW appointment she told us to try sex and he was like erm......she says hes the first guy she's ever had to talk into having sex with partner, i now say he's under strict MW orders lol.

Have read about clary sage but wasnt sure about it..... am i right that you have a bath with it? Thats what im worried about, im getting s & s done next thurs IF baby engaged and will get date for induction but 10-12 days after that....that must have been so long for you, think its the dread of knowing id have to go all that time thats stressing me out a bit, and its funny, was sooo convinced id be early with this one,had a feeling.Doesnt matter i was wrong and its exciting too waiting on the big moment happening, just need to learn patience (esp if do go over)

totally, we'd all be giving ourselves natural induction bang on the 40 weeks if they did i do totally agree with its when baby is ready and also youre body but its good knowing there are things that you can try wether they work or not it makes the wait a bit more bearable and also fun or frustrating if they do something or not.

Apparently castor oil is a sure fire way of bringing on labour, but you'll be on the loo constantly and I wouldn't be surprised if that included vomiting too - not very pleasant
