EDD today, feeling down :( *UPDATE - IN EARLY LABOUR!!*

So LO is due today, but nothing.

I've not lost my plug.
I'm not in a great deal of discomfort, just the odd niggley period pain.
BH are the same as they have been for weeks, no real pain or frequency.
And I just don't 'feel' like she is coming any time soon.

Now I know she will come when she is good and ready, but my biggest fear is having intervention during birth and the longer she stays in there the more I feel like it's going to be inevitable.

My MW is coming for a check tomorrow, and offered me a sweep. Now the thought of internals makes me want to so I rather only have them if it is medically neccessary and I don't think it is just yet so told her no thanks.

Any of you ladies in a similar boat?

---------------------------------------------

Just had my MW pop over for a check, and I'm in EARLY LABOUR! YEY! Ow... but yey never the less!!!
Was up all night with the WORST period pains and tightenings, but I have never been so happy to be in pain hahaha!
Noticed my plug/show when I went to wee on a stick for the MW.

I've never been so happy about pain or mucus! LOL.

Thankyou ladies for all the wishful thinking! It paid off!!!

Ive been there before hun, so i know how you feel, but dont worry too much. A sweep will help you along, and its only very slightly uncomfortable, id go for it, as the more help you get now, the quicker things will get going and less chance of intervention later on. Try some love making tonight (if its still desired lol) and a bit of nipple stimulation, and then a nice cup of r.leaf tea, and then 2 moz eat a nice sharp and sour pinapple, as ive been told that that helps. Make the most of the time you have left by making some dinners and freezing them, and making sure food cupboard is stocked etc as the last thing you will feel like is going shopping! Good Luck.

Thanks. I have already tried nipple stimulation, pineapple, DTD and trying not to think about it and just relaxing. But no such luck lol.

The cupboard is fully stocked, and I batch cooked about 10 meals all in the freezer.

I never thought I would be so antsy to wet myself and find a mucus plug in my pants LOL!

I know it's frustrating and a very anxious time, but try not to worry. Most first babies go overdue. Try to stay active if you can - do some housework, or go for a short walk (with company!). Scrubbing the floors is meant to be good!

I'd recommend accepting the sweep tomorrow if you're feeling like this - they bring on labour roughly half the time. It is a bit uncomfortable, but isn't it worth it if it starts things off?

Try to think about something else in the meantime, a watched clock and all that...

good luck x

Since posting, I've had tight (and I mean TIGHT) BH along with pretty tense period pain so maybe I spoke too soon? Or maybe I am speaking too soon now?? Oh who knows lol.

I guess what will be, will be.

Im not due till 22nd but by recent scans they said id be due 15th.. week ahead but anyway iv had no signs at all .. i still have some time for some signs i spose but i only ever had a few BH's but that was like earlier on and period like pains but nothing lately iv not lost my plug either.. not that iv noticed anyway iv only had extra discharge but nothing as a plug is described i only ever get the odd niggling pain down below where hes engaging more or wriggling about .. i think ill be overdue by looks of things but then again iv been told sometimes your water could just brake and then all the pains start to come and everything after that .. so basically you get no warning.. i dont really want to be induced i want it to just happen naturally and i dont fancy having sweeps either but spose if babys not coming its only thing can do

Hope your LO comes soon for you
