PGP (Pelvic Girdle Pain)??? So painful

Anyone else got this...i think i do but not 100% sure but the last few days my back pain has gotten really bad, yesterday and today i could hardly walk. It was so painful when i walk down stairs, laugh/cough/sneeze. I couldnt sleep last night because it hurt so much when i moved, i can hardly put trousers on anymore haha. The pain is in my lower back, upper bottom on the right hand side. Just wondering if anyone else has this or has had it and could give tips on how to make it better etc

I have spd which sounds a bit similar except the pain is mainly infront. There isn't much that can be done to take the pain away apart from taking it as easy as possible. I find taking a bath helps and when the pain gets unbearable, i take co-codamol (prescribed) and prop myself up with tons of pillows. I would mention it to your midwife. Hope you feel better soon xx

yea had a look at SPD on internet and that does sound like it too, but the pain is more at my back than front, little pain at front tho. It is alot better than yesterday so hopefully it wont come back really painful again

I have the pain right on the pubic bone..Feels like it's just spreading apart, which it is, and is quite painful..So, I started my morning with a hot bath..I have my belly belt on which does help quite a bit..Try putting pants on with both legs at a time, sitting down..Keep them together as much as possible...It does help.

Yep I have that..I had a bad back before getting pregnant and now it's much worse, plus pains in both hips now and the pubic bone is sore. I can't lift up my right leg.

It sounds more like sciatic pain if it's localized toward the back/one side of your bottom. Suffering from both PGP and sciatic pain in varying degrees of how painful/debilitating they are at different times, I can tell you that they both suck equally!

SPD is PGP, just PGP is the "new name" for it according to my mw

I have PGP/SPD and it is more in between my legs. I am pretty sure the pain needs to be between the legs as well as in the back and hips. But could be wrong

With PGP just be sure to do as much as possible without standing on one leg at a time, like sitting down to put on shoes/trousers and keeping knees together when turning in bed (easier said than done i am afraid)

With mine it gets BAD when I have an active day and I pay the price for it for a day or 2. It gets better with resting. Just try to take it easy

pgp ( pelvic girdle pain ) is being used as the new name for spd as previously mw's would only deal with pain in the front of the pelvis but now they are learning to deal with pain the the back of the pelvis in the joints there as well , my pain is share equally in both sides of the back of my pelvis either side of my tailbone and it really restricts what i can and cant do. theres a support thread in Pregnacy Club here for people who suffer from Pelvic problems
