Question about Anti-Natal classes & Birthing balls...

Hi Ladies,

Is anyone else going to anti natal classes? I missed my first class last week,
I should go to the one this week, but then il prob miss next weeks as I have a scan 15min before the class starts!
Im wondering if there is any point in going and if I did/didnt go, is there much more I could learn, then I already know now?

What are your opinions?

Also, has anyone got a birthing ball?
Im thinking of buying one, mainly to help my little man engage?
He is in a strange position though- Head down- bum to the left and legs to the right!
He hasnt moved from this position since last Tuesday... Well he has moved his feet in to my ribs lol, but then he moves to just under the ribs and kicks me there... and with feeling sick in my chest every night, il try anything to engage him just to have a bit more breathing space!

Thanks for your input xxx

I missed my first ante-natal last week too because of the weather. I'm going to the one tomorrow, not really because I think it'll teach me much, but because it's a chance to meet other people due at a similar time to me and hopefully I'll make some friends.

I bought a cheapo exercise ball the other day that I'm using as a birthing ball. My LO was breech and now he's almost head down although I can't say it was the birthing ball that did it. I do find it really comfy to sit and bounce on though when I'm having pressure so I'd recommend them xx

Defo recommend the birthing ball, especially during braxtons, for me anway I've found it invaluable.

Also can't praise my ante natal classes enough, so glad I went; I learned a lot xx

i got a cheapo from Agros hun, just an exercise ball really...but if ur getting one get a relatively big one as mine has to be fully pumped up so that my knees are at level with my pelvis (which is the whole point!) when i sit on it! U get 'anti-burst' ones too i gather!

about the antenatal classes- i had my 1st one last week and it was useful, not because i learnt new things (i was so surprised at how much iv actually learnt from BnB!) but because we got to ask qns about my specific hospital...their procedures, facilities, how they run things, visiting times, wards etc. I got to ask stupid stuff like 'does my hospital provide towels'!!

was valuable to just talk about baby stuff too...you know me hun- any excuse!!
