I'm Currently Feeling: | Not sure what to do anymore... The office of my birthing doctor just called.. they want me to have another ultrasound to confirm the baby's position. What does this mean? We've already established the baby is head-down by feeling her plus I had an BPP ultrasound at 34 weeks that showed she was head-down.
I'm a bit confused. I'm worried about what ultrasounds do to the baby.. this will be my 7th one. It seems as though almost all of the ultrasounds I've had were pointless and they get you to have one for the smallest things.
Do you think maybe they're checking because I'm not engaged yet? UPDATE
Now... my doctor's office here just called. The specialist I saw in the city four hours away wants to see me again in 2 weeks and she said that puts me between April 14-18th so to give him a call. TWO WEEKS? I'm due April 13th! Why would I travel down April 14-18th to see him? I'm confused again as he told me its ok to give birth where I chose. I really don't know what to do ladies-- I feel like everything is going to shit. | |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would hold off. There have been studies showing long term negative effects of excessive ultrasounds. I have had 4 different ob's over the years, and they have all been able to tell by feeling my belly where the baby was, so I don't see the point in yet another ultrasound. Just my 2 cents- go with your gut. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would ask them why they want another sonogram when it has already been determined taht the baby is head down.
I would tell the specialist not to be stupid, you are due in 12 days. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I called my clinic again to ask if they knew why the specialist wanted to see me. She said he told me when he saw me that he'd like to see me again and I quickly said "No, he didn't. He told me he didn't need to see me again." And she said "No. He said he did." She wasn't there. He specifically told my husband and I that he did not need to see me again and I could deliver in Marathon. My husband even asked him more than once to ensure. His note said that he saw me at 36 weeks and wants to see me again at 38 weeks. Why am I only hearing about this TODAY? I really don't understand--- I'm so frustrated. I have no idea what to do. Why would he tell me one thing but write another? I wish I could call these doctors and speak with them directly but I only get to speak with secretaries who have no idea what's going on.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Alright-- so I called the specialists office. They said he might have made a mistake in writing that he wants to see me again in 2 weeks. They said "he's a busy man and might have made a boo-boo when he wrote the note because he writes that on his standard notes for maternity patients". It took me forever to get me to hear her out at the beginning because she kept telling me he sees all his patients every 2 weeks, but I had to keep saying I'm not a patient-- it was a one-time specialist appointment and he said he didn't need to see me again.
Hopefully it was just an error on his behalf. I'm going to get my doctor to call him tomorrow if she can to clear things up.
Flat out-- I won't be going to see him in two weeks. It just isn't possible. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | oh good lord, i just read all this. i can't believe how they are behaving,
as if a 2 hr trip is not a big deal at all. ridiculous.
i hope everything works out. and why would they need an US to determine baby's position?/?? Won' t they have the U/S machine when you go to give birth...wow
Just hang in there and don't stress out. | | | | Status: Offline
