Breech baby, pain, and not happy :-(

I found out lo was extended breech at a scan at 36 + 4 days which was a shock because i was convinced the lump under my ribs was her bum, and i've been booked in fo a section on the 20th.

Now she seems to have moved a bit and i'm in agony down below where the head should be, but i still have the hard lump at the top. it kills :-S

My partner of nearly 3 years hasnt been up for over a week due to the weather, but tonight when it isnt bad he'd rather order a takeaway than come and see me!

I think my body is going to break with the pain it feels like really bad period pains and LO pushing down extremly hard.

sorry for the rant guys

has anyone else been told they have a Breech at 36 weeks? and how does your bump feel? i can't work mine out

HI there - I'm 37 and a half weeks and mine is breech too - I can feel a head at the top of my tummy. Yesterday I had the most awful lower back and lower bump pain all day and could hardly walk. Went to bed early last night and feel better today. I'm booked in for an ECV tomorrow but I'm seriously reconsidering it! I get all my kicks low down although you do see the head moving about form side to side.

Hi

I have a "Footling" Breech (i.e. the feet are sticking out below the bottom). He is actually across my body - not quite tranverse, but his head is just under my right ribs and his bottom is on the bottom left "corner" of my bump (feet are below his bottom - tucked down near the cervix ).

I am lucky that I have a small baby, but I also have a very compact bump. It depends on his EXACT position as to how I feel: sometimes he either head-buts my ribs or tries to stick his head out of my side... sometimes something seems to go inside my ribs and I feel some lung pain or heartburn. Sometimes he kicks his feet (at my cervix) and it kills. But nothing (i.e. his bottom) is engaged - so I don't get a lot of pelvic pressure.

There is definitely something "round and very hard" where his head is - you can feel the lump. If I hold my hand gentley on his head, and he is awake, then he will often push his head into my hand . If I hold his bottom, then he will wriggle it (his bottom feels more angular, and less round, than his head...). I can normally feel his back (running between head and bottom) and love stroking that.

There are lots of downsides to a breech baby, BUT I LOVE playing with him...

QT

Hi,

I had an ECV and it was fine. It didn't hurt at all.

My advice is try it and if your not happy stop.

sorry just wanted to tell you.

Good luck what ever you do.
