| Def not planned - Had a gastric bypass op last april and told by Surgeon not to get pregnant for at least a year (!) but I think as result of malabsorption from the op and rapid weight loss, I fell pregnant whilst taking the pill 6 months after the op. Both of us in big shock as we had talked about not being ready for kids for a long time! We are both so excited now though. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Wasnt planned...but id been off the pill for over 2 years and had extremely irregular periods...only one in a year in the beginning. Was a bit worried so went to the doctors, he said there was nothing to worry about, it can happen with the pill, so come back in another year. I then lost 3 stone, didnt even get a proper period and conceived at once! Im assuming it was the weight loss that triggered something..but we are over the moon anyway. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Was planned, we didnt use anything and we wanted our first 2 children fairly close together so thought 2 and a half years was perfect gap! SO started trying and got BFP almost straight away |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We knew we wanted kids but the month I got pregnant we weren't trying. I'd had enough and it was all too emotional. I hadn't been taking the pill for about 4 months.
We weren't using contraception though. For me I was half really happy and half OMG why did I do that!! OH was suddently completely against the idea and told me he never wants kids and that I should have a termination. I got really depressed and didn't know what to to. I the end - quite late (I think at about 14 or 15 weeks) he convinced he me have a termination because I thought it's not fair to force him to be a dad but the day the appointment came to see the doctor and discuss it, neither of us wanted to go. So here I am - big and fat and pregnant!
Don't you really hate it when strangers ask you whether it was planned? I think it's really rude!! I even got angry when my dad asked OH! |

| Not planned at all.
We were supposed to be getting married this september, had place booked and I even have my dress, which would get no where near me now.
I came off the pill about 18 months ago cause it wasnt agreeing with me. We switched to condoms and was fine with these till one drunken night when himself decides he'll pull out no problems.
I knew it was around the time I was ovulating so I got myself to the doctors and got the morning after pill, took it well within the time.
The next week my boobs were killing me and I felt so nauseus all the time. A week later I took a test and it was positive.... Think I lauged and cried at the same time.
We're both very happy about it now and are looking forward to meeting our little man is 7 weeks. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Leigh and I have been together almost 7 years now and we were supposed to be getting married this October, and like Waddler, had the venue booked, dress pretty much picked out, sis-in-law-to-be as bridesmaid.....
I haven't been able to take the pill for over 4 years as I had problems with high BP. Condoms used to make me sore (tried every variety on the planet!) so we decided not to use any contraception as we had already decided we wanted kids eventually (ideally AFTER we were married! I'm a bit traditional that way!) so if they came before, then fine!
So after more than 4 years of no contraception, and only one possible m/c (I was about 7 days late and was extremely heavy AF) and really irregular periods, we figured that there was probably little chance of us conceiving... we didn't look further into it, as tbh we weren't really trying as such.
Then back in November time I was feeling really sick constantly for a week and was 10 days late. Having been in this position so many times and got BFN, wasn't expecting a positive result!
OK, so we had to postpone our wedding for a little while..(especially as my bridesmaid, sis-in-law-to-be, is now also expecting and will be due in October when we were supposed to be getting married!!) but after the shock wore off, we are so thrilled! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ours wasn't planned at all, but it was my own fault really!
I moved in with my OH into a different area and ran out of the pill in the process of changing doctors surgery. I just never went back to renew my prescription, just never got round to it.
A year and a half later, I found out I was pregnant.
Don't regret it for anything though, best things thats ever happened to us!
