Tens Machine - usefull or not and where and when to hire!

Has anybody has experience of using a tens machine? Ive heard they are good for the early stages so when do you book to hire one and where is the best place?
Im guessing they give you more than a week or so hire as surely youd want it a couple of weeks before and after due date?
Any recs??
Thanks

Hey there,

Not sure how useful they are - my friend told me she was jst happy to be in control of something. You can hire from Boots, Tesco and Mothercare - I think they give it to you for 4 weeks, and two weeks extra if you go past your due date.

I've borrowed one from a friend - it's worth a try!

Two of my friends used them through their labour - just G&A and a TENs machine - and they both said they were excellent. I am just looking into hiring one from Mothercare - http://www.mothercare.com/Maternity-...8&#productInfo - as Margie says, def worth a try!

I am renting one from baby care tens which is £27 for 35 days with an extra 2 weeks if needed (just ring up to extend). We played with one in my NCT class and it was easy to use and have spoken to people who swear by them. For that price I decided to have a go - can't hurt! Mine was sent out in the post today - think most send them around the 37 week stage just in case of an early arrival!

Someone posted this last week and one lady said that she's hiring one through Sainsburys for £8?! might be worth a look. Lloyds pharmacy do them for £30 and they have a boost button for contractions. I got this one but only because I plan to sell it on to my sil afterwards
