Haven't bought anything new from a store.

I bought a bunch of things from our local baby second hand store, in sizes 0-3 and 3-6 for warm weather. I dont' buy newborn. When they're new, they're in sleeping things and onsies anyway for the first month or two, and by then they're out of the newborn things and into 0-3.

But that's MY experience with MY babies.

Id personally return them. Maybe have a few bits in smaller sizes, just in case your baby is small BUT 0-3 are much better because they leave room to grow into, plus the fact that these bubba doo's grow so quickly anyway! It's not a problem if clothes are big on them, better than them being too small.

Hope that helps.

my mom bought 99% of clothes for the baby (mainly sleepers and onesies) in various sizes, but not too many in newborn.

So far I only have 2 new born sleepers and 3 0-3 month outfits. I am having my shower in a few weeks, so I figure most of my girlfriends will buy newborn stuff. The few things I have bought is all 3-6. Since I don't know if my LO is a boy or a girl, I am waiting to buy the majority of stuff.

I've bought zero newborn clothes (although I do have a few family members who have bought them). A few 0-3 month outfits, a lot of 3-6 months and 6-9 months. I figure bigger is better than smaller

We have a few bits and peices in newborn but we bought them from Asda where they werent too expensive, we didn't want to buy loads of expensive newborn stuff for him to grow out of in 2 weeks.

We have 7 sleepsuits and 7 bodysuits, 1 pair of pyjamas, 2 hats, 2 pairs of booties and 2 pairs of scratch mits in newborn size. Everything else is 3-6 months.
