Have you thought about trying nipple stimulation? You'll want to do it for 5 mins then wait 15 or so to see what happens.

Basicly what you're doing is getting your body to release oxytocin which is a natural uterine contracting hormone. You're enticing things to get started

My friend was telling me about the nipple thing. It doesn't work unless your cervix has started effacing aparently.

well that's true, none of the things we've been discussion actually starts labor unless the body is ready for it to start. Pineapple doesn't help, sex doesn't help, nipple stimulation doesn't help, walking doesn't help, bouncing up and down on anything doesn't help...

But different than the other things (excluding maybe sex), there is an actual hormonal physiological response to nipple stimulation (uterine contractions). That's why breastfeeding after birth is so important for placenta delivery and to get that uterus back in it's normal shape .

Now if the body isn't ready for labor, the uterine contractions won't progress into anything. Also something to note, some women have to stimulate longer than others.

Even though I'm full term, I still feel as though I have so long to go. When I see that I'm 37 weeks it makes me feel like I'm not very far along--- if that makes sense?
