washing baby's clothes

just wondering if anyone else is trying to get organised?
when should i start washing babies clothes (obviously before he is born loL) im not too fussed about detergents, i can use a hypoallergenic one... but someone told me (and its a good point) that there is no use using different stuff than i use on mine and hubbies clothes as bubby will be cuddling up against you all day?
i am coming up 29 weeks... i know it may seem a little early but we have just sold our apartment and will be moving out either half way through april or the 22nd of may. i am due at the beginning- mid june (they cannot give me a "proper" date )
we thinking we might wash everything before we move and pack to save us running around crazy unpacking AND trying to get babies stuff washed..

hope this makes sense lols

Do you think tho that if you wash it and then pack and unpack it, you might want to wash it again? I haven't washed all of our LO's clothes yet, and I'm havign a section in 6 days. I've washed enough for her to have lots of stuff to wear, but I'm not going to wash it all yet. I might wait until you move just so you dont have to pack it all and unpack it, then maybe not feel like its clean. The clothes are so tiny that tons of them fit in one load, and it doesn't take long to wash them.

I am swapping over the washing detergent I am using because I read the same thing. I don't mind swapping over. I was using scent free stuff before, now I am using Charlie's Soap which is a bit more natural. I will skip using softner on the baby's stuff, but will still use a small bit on our clothes and such. Luckily, I am just running out of our regular detergent now, so I have time to get most of our stuff washed before my due date. Since I am having a home birth, I have decided that washing the baby's clothes will be my labor project, something to do to keep me occupied and not watching the clock when I am in early labor. My mom and best friend will be with me so if I don't get to finish, they can take over for me.

When I did Colton's stuff, I washed only his wear home outfit and a few outfits for the first days. I didn't wash everything incase he ended up bigger/smaller than we might have expected.

Why are they giving you a 3 week time period? They must have gotten a date from the ultrasounds... ? I'd be REALLY mad if they gave me a 3 week window for my due date, considering you can go 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after the date. That seems weird...

Ive done all of mine already, just figured it would be easier to do it as I got it rather than all in one go.

We've used the same powder and conditioner as I do because I have sensitive skin. If the baby is allergic to it we'll have to change. I wouldn't worry about that though because you'll never be able to predict in advance what your baby's skin will like.

I use Charlie's Soap too and love love love it.

All baby clothes are washed and in the chest of drawers. I've gotten a few things new that I have to wash yet, but they'll be in there in the next week or two.
