Back from MWU (again) :'(

As some of you know I had to visit the MWU yesterday as I had pains, they gave me a bandage support thing which has helped with the pain of the LO's head pressing low down

However I went for my routine 32 week appointment today with the GP (as MW on holiday *lucky her*) The GP seemed VERY unexperienced! To measure my BP she put me on an automatic machine and it went so far that my hand turned blue! But this wasn't enough...as she was wondering round the room she asked ME what the reading had said...I said I didn't know as I can't read them so she did it AGAIN and my hand went blue again lol! When she looked at the machine she said "Oh, it doesn't look like it is working..I'll have to get another one" *sigh*. So off she went to get a manual one and she said that it was quite high which is unusual for me, she then checked my *sample* and said that I had +1 protein and with my symptoms of headaches and swollen hands and feet etc she couldn't leave them unnoticed and I was demanded to go to the MWU again to be checked out. When I said I could go this afternoon *as it is about 30 minute drive and I had no petrol until parents were home*, she then starts screaming that I must go asap from the doctors surgery within the hour as she is sure I have preeclampsia.

Luckily enough my OH works 2 minutes away so I phone him in tears and explain I must go straight away. As we have both have been looking at preeclampsia we know that this is not good and are both worried as hell. I ring my parents to let them know and they are really worried and demand that they come too but I talk them out of it.

Anyway...after waiting in the waiting room for an hour *after being rushed there lol* the baby was monitored again and my BP was taken every 5 minutes. The machine continued to make my whole arm go blue everytime and after all of the pain of it the MW there said that my BP was higher but ok and was no cause for concern, however she was going to take blood anyway.
Now I have to wait for a phone call if something is wrong and have to go back for a BP check next wednesday

Sorry for long story but I was just so shocked at how the GP was this morning and how it seems there is no definate way to tell if I have preeclampsia is enough as the protein in the sample wasn't enough. If anyone has any ideas of the solid evidence they need to prove it I would really love to know

I know here (the states) they diagnose it if you have high BP and protein in your urine. I'm sorry your being tossed back and forth they really need to figure something out!!

Hope you get answers soon hun...the appt with the GP must have been distressing for you but it's good that she had the sense to refer you to the MW.
