Glucose tollerance test....

Had my routine 28 week check with my midwife yesterday and was told that the glucose in my urine had increased so wanted to do a blood test to be sure of how much. Got my result back today and apparently it should be a maximum of 5.7 but mine was 6.3 ???? Yesterday she also said little one was measuring on the large side at about 30 weeks lol.
Have got hospital apt friday morning at half 8 to have a GTT and to scan baby for size. Looking forwards to the scan but not spending 3 hours at the hospital A little worried tho as never had these problems with my other 3 children when i was pregnant for them.Fingers crossed all will be well and at least i get to see our little one again

Can anyone tell me what to expect when i go for these tests? xx

Not sure what the tests involves, think my MIL had to have it done with her youngest though (who is five). Good luck

First of all, a period of time is given where you cannot eat or drink anything except for water before your appointment. When you attend your appointment they will take a blood sample. Then they will give you a sweet drink and after will take your blood at intervals.

It's not fun and is boring as heck!

I went through it with my first pregnancy and all came back ok.

Good luck!

Yeah been told a cant have anything other than black tea, black coffee or water after midnight the night before so that it doesnt affect the test. Also have to take a big bottle of lucozade with me to have between the tests. Really not looking forwards to having my blood taken again tho lol. How many times do they take your blood? Any idea? xx
