We also thought it would be nice to make a contribution to Sarah & Matt so they can use it towards flower arrangements, head stone or resting place arrangements. I'm Currently Feeling: | i have to do this tomorrow my first test which was a 50 mg test came back high, so now i have to do the 100 mg test. basically you fast before from midnight or some people say a bit more and then you go in the morning. they give you something sweet, where i live its powder they mix with water that u drink. i suggest you take lemons or lemon juice with you, that helped me a lot the first time to combat the sweetness. they take your blood about 3 times. once before and i dont know if its twice or three times after you drink. anyway the logic is to see once an hour what your sugar is doing after you have had this sugary drink. ive heard its really boring and that the baby can kick up a lot from all the sugar and some people say they have felt quite sick from it. all i can say is it sucks but what can we do. they told me to take a book and remember you cant eat from the night before and then til after you have taken the test so make sure ull have something there for when you can eat. good luck to us both! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had a GTT yesterday and they did a finger prick test. then took blood and told me to drink my lucozade. Then after a two hour wait (take a book) they took my blood again. The worst bit is hanging about for two hours to be honest. Hope all goes well for you xXx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I believe they do take your blood 3 times. Thats what my doctor explained to me when I had my GD test done. Luckily I only had to do the test where they draw it once. I couldn't handle having it drawn 3 times, and having to stay for 3 hours. I actually vomited uncontrollably as soon as she took the needle out of me, just from the effect of the sweet drink. It was awful.
I had a BPP done almost 2 weeks ago, and my doc said that I have a little more fluid around LO than normal, so last Friday she said she wanted me to do another GD test, since this can be a sign sometimes. However, I'm scheduled for a section in 6 days, and my first test came back perfect, so I think I am objecting to the test. And I'm not even going to see my doctor before the section.
I hope everything turns out ok tho!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I go Friday for my 3 hour test as well. They are supposed to draw blood 3 times after the drink. All told it will take 4 hours.
Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | ugh had my test today, drank two cups of that sweet stuff and added a bit of lemon juice, had one test before and then three more, one on every hour for 3 hours. i was feeling crummy for the first half an hour but then it went ok after that until...........
i left the clinic and started walking to the bus, walked about 10 min and started to feel kind of shakey, then it all went downhill, i started to get sweaty and my heart started beating really fast and i felt really weak and dizzy. luckily i called dh who is a diabetic and he said i had a low sugar and need to eat something sweet straight away so i chugged a tin of fanta and two pieces of a bit burnt pizza, felt better after 15 min, hope its not a bad sign, results will be ready sunday.. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Finally got my GTT out the way. Wasnt too bad except that the nurse kept using the same arm to take blood and now left feeling rather sore. Been told to ring up monday for my results so fingers crossed all will be ok.
My midwife had also asked them to measure the fluid around baby as my belly is measuring a little on the large size and apparently the fluid is spot on so looks like my bump is all baby afterall lol. |
