well i guess i am here now... yay 3rd tri!
so here my question..
on both my nipples there is a definate crack where colostrum leaks out but only a tiny bit not enough to wet my shirt. then it just kind of dries up ( like crusty)
sorry to be gross but i find this a bit weird. i can move the crust and then i just see the cracks again.
why do i have these cracks? are they supposed to be like that? are there meant to be more? i thought milk comes out from a few points in the nipple ( dont know if that was dumb to say). the cracks worry me because i already have them, what happens if i get all cracked and horrible nipples. im really scared about this and how it will affect breastfeeding. i hope this was clear.
can anyone help me? |

I'm Currently Feeling:  | mine are rather cracked as well and I am not leaking at all, but I do find little colostrum crusties in the cracks.

I'm Currently Feeling:  | CONGRATS! I have cracks as well that leak. Kinda odd as I thought it leaked from holes...dunno if it's normal or not, but if it's not, we can be odd together! |

I'm Currently Feeling:  | I can't beleive you are here! Time is going soooo fast. Congratulations!!!
As for the nipple thing, I didn't really think of them as cracks, just how my nipple was. I leak, so I get really crusty, and it is just gross. I have also noticed when I am leaking it does seem to well up in little pools across the nipple, so I am assuming that is the individual duct. |

I'm Currently Feeling:  | Entirely normal ladies.
Breast milk does come from half a dozen or so "holes" in the nipple. The cracks you have are little creases or wrinkles in the nipple which are also normal.
