28 week glucose screen- failed

I'm scheduled for my GD screen in the morning and I'm not supposed to have anything to eat or drink after 12am. I meant to call the MW today but it slipped my mind until it was too late in the day. My question- I'm very, very stuffy so I have to breathe through my mouth a lot and my throat gets painfully dry quickly. Will a sip of water occasionally hurt the test?

-------------------------------------------------

Update: I failed the screen. My sugar was 169 so I have to go Friday for the 3 Hour glucose test. I was so confident everything is going perfectly.

On a positive note, she looks great on the ultrasound- perfect measurements, 2 lbs 10 ozs and breech.

No as long as it doesnt contain any sugar to throw off your test

By fasting they mean you can't have anything to eat or drink except for water... as water does not effect you blood sugar level.

I had elevated levels at my first glucose test too but they were perfectly fine after the 3 hour test. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. You'll definitely need something like a book or MP3 player to eat up some time while you're there. Good luck!

My first test was 150 but I passed the 3 hour. It's not so bad if you do have it they just put you on a special diet.
