I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm doing well. Measuring normal for my fasting and 2 hours after meals glucose checks.
I did an experiment too. I ate a cup of yogurt, 2 small granola bars and a glass of chocolate milk which was a lot of carbs. Within 20 minutes, I was again experiencing a rapid heartbeat, slight nausea, clammy and a little dizzy. I took my BP and pulse. BP was normal but my pulse was 116. Then, I tested my glucose- 188!!! It passed within 45 minutes of resting. So for me, the symptoms I've been having are because of high blood glucose, not low. It does feel different from the times I have experienced low blood sugar over the course of my life. The symptoms sound the same but the feeling is quite different. That probably doesn't make sense, lol. But I'm glad I figured this out because I have a natural alarm built in that tells me when my sugar is too high.
I do wish there was something quick one could do to bring blood sugar down like there is with hypoglycemia. But luckily if I just watch what I eat, then my levels stay in the normal range.
cupcake, let me know what your doctor says. Hope you are feeling well!
snj15, don't worry! This is something you can manage and remember its just for a short time! |

| Thanks for support. Its nice to know there are others gong through the same thing.
My levels have been Ok except today which 2 hours after lunch jumped sky high even though I only had a wholemeal sandwich with ham and salad. Hopefully when I take it later it will have come down. I am just so scared they will just put me straight on insulin. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | See? You don't have long before your LO arrives and GD will be a thing of the past. If you do have to have insulin, maybe they have something you could take by mouth. My grandfather takes a pill once a day for his Type 2 diabetes. Hopefully, you won't though. Just watch your carb intake and I'm sure things will be fine! |

| Thanks, I am hoping that diet alone will keep it under control. I'm told they won't give tablets as they don't know the effect they have on the baby so it would be straight onto injections. A friend at work had them and she said it actually hurts less than the finger prick blood test. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | That's good to know. My lancet thing doesn't really hurt at all so I guess I could handle it if I had to. Well, I guess I can handle anything for my little girl. |
