providing things go as planned I will be having a homebirth any day now I have, finally packed an 'emergancy' hospital bag...did it christmas day when I got to the 37 week mark!!
Cant wait to have him at home, everything is sorted and ready for him, even finally sorted through all the baby clothes into an organised fashion rather than just put away in drawers...I was given absolutely piles of baby clothes and I just washed them and put them away at the time so spent hours the last week sat organising them all properly.

My one problem is that my birthing stool hasnt arrived. Im pretty upset about that as I put the order in weeks and weeks and weeks ago and now it turns out the company made a mistake and have sent all their stools out and dont have one for me. Im now not at all sure how I will be giving birth....!

I'm booked for a home birth, but it's gonna depend on my iron levels, which have been a bit low. I like the idea of giving birth in my own space as I will feel more relaxed and able to do what comes natural rather than being dictated by the hospital environment.

My youngest dd was born at home. I would thoroughly recommend it. She was OP, long back labour, 9lbs 3oz and born face to pubes without so much as a scratch to me. i had an NHS hospital m/w and she said she couldn't have seen that happening at the hospital. Next baby will be a home waterbirth I hope.

WOW!!!! any special requirements??? what about the mess ... etc .... did u use plastic sheets to protect matteress etc....
I THINK THIS JUST MAKES MORES SENSE TO ME AS BEEN ON MY OWN I'M RELYING ON FREINDS AND FAMILY AS BIRTHING PARTNERS.
This way if i do have long labour like i did with issy ... they can take it in turns make as much tea as they like .. and i think i'll feel more relaxed..
My midwife said i would have to change hospitals tho .. why when the one i'm booked into is closer .??? and again my midwife at the mo doesn't fill me with confidence .. but i know a few of the other midwifes in the area and they are fab ... how does it all work ??????

I'd looooooove to have a home birth but I'm not allowed because of GD. Definitely look into it I've only heard great things.

I tried to have a HB with DD and it was amazing until she decided not to come out and I had to go to hospital for a ECS.
I'm NOT trying to put you off, if I was allowed I'd try for another HB this time but they've said they won't let me and cos DP isn't filled with confidence to try again I'm going into hospital.

I had a pool but tbh it didn't really relax me anymore than just being at home did. I put loads of blankets on the floor (ones I didn't care about throwing out) and that was it.

I tried G&A just cos I wanted to try it and had a TENS machine but I honestly think I could have coped without either as being at home was so relaxing.
I had 2 MWs, My DP and my parents there (parents in the other room) Parents just kept everyone (including me) topped up on cups of tea and we just chatted away.

I'd highly reccomend it. Just pack a bag in case. I didn't and needed DP to bring SO much stuff in it was ridiculous, if I'd just packed a bag I'd have been fine! lol
