possibe breech or taverse

I went in for my ob checkup last week and the doctor said she was eather very high up, or in a traverse position. They have me scheduled for an ultrasound this Thursday to determine her position and size. He said if she was they could attempt to move her, but did not elaborate past there. HAs anyone else ever experienced this. Could'nt it be she just hasn't dropped yet, because I have read that if you've had more than 1 pregnancy they dont drop until time for delivery. And I've read that if they try to move a breech baby, etc. their are risks involved.

I wouldn't let them move her. They put a whole hand up your doodah and another one pushes right into your stomach to move the baby around. My babies back to back and if worse comes to worse she'll have to be a ceserean, no matter how scared I am of being cut open, the pain of turning them must be alot worse. My midwife opted for a ceserean because she had a diagnosed breech. If a midwife isn't going to do it, neither am I.

Then again, it's personal choice. Depends completely on what you want to do. How far are you? Does she still have time to turn? Some babies turn right at the last minute.

I am 36 weeks right now. She could still turn. I tend to agree with you. It sounds painful and they arn't always succesful eather. I had a small tear in the placenta at 25 weeks, and I'm worried it could cause more trouble. I guess I should wait until the ultrasound befor I start worrying too much. Maybe she'll be head down then. Thanks for yor imput.

I agree with the others - I wouldn't let them turn my baby. If it comes down to it I would rather have a c-section.

I let them try to turn my breech baby a couple of weeks ago and it was unbelievably painful and didn't work. There are lots of positions and things you can try to let them turn naturally so I would just try those things, cos like kate said, manual turning doesn't usually work anyway. Hope everything goes ok.

Did they mention laying on an ironing board that goes from your couch to your floor? That can get the baby to turn sometimes.
