I'm Currently Feeling: | Wow see the ladies on here are more help than the doctors and midwives.. At least you know what is causing you all that pain !!
What do you have to do when you have that SPD, just rest or can they give you anything for it? Sorry if thats a stupid question lol |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Linzi, we all have to have a rant every now and again. I am sooo thankful I can do it on this board, you all understand, and my DH doesn't have to hear about it and not be able to really understand. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Samantha... I jkust think sometimes I probably come across like a right ogre and Im not really, Im alright lol
Louisa: All Ive been given is co-codamol, but the doctor I saw today told me not to over do it on that. He's signed me off from work for a week (which Im not happy about) and Ive got to go back next week to be 'reassessed' or something.
Fortunately though, he said it could only last a few days, so fingers crossed.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've had a problem very similar to this before - severe abdo-pain, which I knew was not being caused by the pregnancy but when I went to see my doctor all he did was send me straight to the gynaecology ward where they checked out the baby and nothing else. In the end I had to go to A&E because the pain was so severe. It turned out to be a very bad case of constipation They gave me some lactulose and some codeine pain killers, which really helped.
If you know that there's nothing wrong with the baby but there's obviously still something wrong then I'd defo recommend a trip to A&E and be sure to stress that you have had the baby checked out and that is NOT what is causing the problem.
Really hope you feel better soon, hun |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think we should all set up our own diagnosis clinic on here, cause we do seem to know more than GP's and midwives.
Had you mentioned SPD to the doctor? I just wonder if he would have thought of it if you hadn't mentioned it. They should refer you to a physio and you should probably wear one of those beautiful sexy stretchy band things.
Take it easy hun xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | No I didn't mention it to him, I was going to if he said he didn't know what it might be but I thought Id leave him to it before I said anything. He made my lie down on his table thingy and getting up onto it had me in tears and he just said he thought that was what it was and thats that. He sort of explained why it happened (like what was causing it etc) which I didn't really understand, he told me to take time off work (which I haven't done, oops!) and to keep taking painkillers. He also said it might only last a week or so, or it might last until birth.
The thing thats worrying me is that Ive read on places it can cause complications in birth? I can completely understand why, because Im in pain when I go for a wee, let alone trying to get a 6lb child out, but he didn't explain what my choices were, or what I should be thinking about. I don't really know what to prepare myself for. Ive read that people have to have sections because of it, or have a forcep delivery.
Its just quite scary how much I dont know about it
