Nipple stimulation to help induce labour

I was just wondering if any of you ladies have tried this and been successful. Also whats the correct method? I've just tried it with 5mins on one nipple waited 5mins then again 5mins on the other. Done that twice but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I do get a lot of leaking so must be sort of right.

i tryed it with charlie it started off some pretty strong contractions but they didnt seem too lead too anything, i thought id give it a go last night as i'd been having a few pre-labour signs, nothing really happend altho i was in the bath so maybe thats why i didnt feel anything, but i did leak alot, and i havnt leaked at all threw the whole pregnancy least i know i have some milk in there now

! i dunno if theres a tactic too it i just done them both at the same time!?

I've read that just 5mins of stimulation is suppose to kick off some pretty strong contractions but I've had no sensations what so ever. So wasn't sure I was doing it right. I did leak absolutely loads tho.

haha well i was at it for about half an hour in the bath and nothing happend at all!!! but yeah with charlie 5 mins did the trick n gave me sum strong ones! might give it a try again tonight! try them both at the same time along with massaging the breast slightly! i cant belive how perverted that seems too sound

Yeh I know what you mean! I found it really wrong to begin with. I may try it again later on too.

You actually need to stimulate BOTH nipples continuously for 15 minutes every hour for many hours.....have fun.....

Wow...that does sound like a lot of work! I suppose I can always get the OH to help out!

Well I have given it a little try - just 15 mins at the mo and it has given me strong BH and tiny pains plus pressure feeling in lower back which i guess is the pressure of BH pushing the baby down a bit. I dont hold out any hope of it working but is worth a try. xx
