I've missed you all!!

Just read thru the other threads, thank-you so much for the kind words!

I went into early labour on Wed and hospital on Fri, she was delivered by emergency c-section at 9.33pm on Sat!

The daycare i had been going too for weeks before (i was transferred from community care to consultant care at the hospital) '' undiagnosed '' a UTI, even altho they consistently found lecocytes, protien and keytones, And it turns out it was a full blown kidney infection. This was worse than labour and all through labour i wanted my sides PUNCHED. The hospital wouldnt let me have an Epidural because white blood count and CRP was up-which signals infection. so i had some diamorphine to sleep friday night and sat morning but other than that was allowd nothing other than gas and air.

It was all pretty horrendous and im pretty traumatised by it, They were negligent in picking up the infection which resulted in the early labour lasting so long and being so so bad... and they mentioned antibiotics on the sat in labour ward yet i didnt get anything till monday night when i pestered them about it. I was basically immobile from the friday afternoon when i was admitted till yesterday because of my back and the only thing that eased it was the potassium IV.

The hospital didnt wanna let me leave but i discharged myself tonight. They were being over cautios because they know it was their fault.

With the labour it wasnt progressing and waters werent breaking, they had to break them in theatre incase of cord prolapse ( last daycare check i had i was told not to worry about that.. i didnt actually have too much fluid..) but i extreeeeemely did as they were all ready to do an emergency spinal/c-sec there and then, that was sat early morning. By lunch was only 5cm, was put on the drip, did F all, tea time was 8, eventually 10, HAD to push for an hour, then she was stuck, off to theatre for spinal and attempt at forceps, failed, emercengy c-sec. recovering from the c-sec is nothing compared to the kidneys and being in labuor is nothing compared to the kidneys. I was told the only/best thing i can do with kidney infection and back to back labour would be an Epi but i wasnt allowed one.

Got a TON of pills now to take, but feel i can recover better at home.

The hospital were extremely bad when it came to supporting breastfeeding, i was given different advice by everyone i saw/buzzed for help, I was also so ill that she was getting ill too so in the end we're both much happier with bottle. since i changed her onto Aptamil shes thriving, Rash has gone, much more alert, sleeping better etc. She is abit jaundiced but doesnt need phototherapy.

So today when the consultant big guy did ward round and said ' maybe tomorrow ' i said no way, im going. This is a farce, they were covering their own back because they know they should of picked up on the infection way before now. they will be getting a very larget letter of complaint from me.

All i can say is im glad it wasnt Ava that was ill, couldnt of left then!

Sounds like you've had a right time of it, that's not on at all and, really, I can't believe they missed the infection! Glad you've managed to bring your gorgeous girl home for xmas though, hope you can enjoy it between all the tablet taking and recovering from c-section x

i have to say, the tablet taking is a bloody mission, we had to makr a chart on computer!!
