Back from another Dr. Appt. =)

Well ladies, I just got back from my 38 week appointment. It was... interesting. Well first of all, she did an internal, and my cervix is still very high and thick. So nothing is going on there. She felt the baby, and estimates that she is about 8 1/2lbs. Nothing is going on, none of my contractions have gotten regular at all. She thinks if we let me go on my own, I'll ending up going past my date. We talked about induction, but she said my cervix is not favorable, so if she even tried, chances are I'd end in having a c-section after hours and hours of induction. She also said, since I'm having a big baby, she is much less likely to push thru a vaginal birth if I'm not progressing.

So all in all... We schedule a section for April 01. I go into the hospital at 6am to get prepped, and surgery is at 7:30. I wasn't all for it at first, but we talked about different risks, and one thing I'm really concerned about is shoulder dystocia. While I would prefer a vaginal delivery, I'm not willing to put my daughter at any unnecessary risk. I'd much rather have a difficult recovery, than her have a difficult recovery, or any harmful effects. Me and Dh just decided to do what is safest for our baby.

Please no one say anything negative about it. I know its not what I originally wanted, but I have to do what is safest for my daughter. I'm having a hard time a little bit, but I'm ok with it. And if me and DH decide to have another, I'll do everything I can to have a VBAC. Thanks for listening girls..

You must be so excited! You'll be holding her soon

My mother had a C-section with my brother because he was a big boy but went on to have a vaginal birth with me (I was much smaller lol). April 1st isn't far away you must be excited. Sorry all that sex didn't pay off... makes me think twice about taking the energy to do it lol. Sounds like your going to have a very healthy little girl!

As long as everything works out for both of you, there really isn't anything negative that should be said.
Yay, at least you have a date now!

Thank you ladies. You make me feel better about our decision. When I told my dad, he got mad and started lecturing me. And it wasn't what I wanted, but the most important thing is to have a healthy baby.

LOL and no, I guess the sex didnt work! And all the walking I've been doing hasn't done a thing either. Anyways girls, thanks again!

She'll be here SOON. That's exciting! I had a c-section with my 1st and will again with this one. I actually recovered very quickly and my scar is extremely low and you can barely see it. It's not what I wanted either, but it really was not bad. Best wishes to you AND baby girl.

Thanks girls.

Also, I forgot since I was so caught up with the section idea. Everything with the BPP was fine from last week. I have a little higher amounts of fluids, (So at least I know that that will be gone after she is born). Also, I'm measuring 40 weeks now. Which is ahead, but its ok. And she said it makes sense since the baby is bigger.

Another question I have for you girls, we got to chose the section date, anytime after I was 39 weeks, but my doc is on vaca up until the 31st of March. I wanted to do it on the 1st, since a family friend is going out of town that day, and we thought she'd be able to see the baby before she left, but turns out she is leaving really early in the morning. Do you think I should call my doc and ask if we can switch to the 2nd so kids wont make fun of her for being born on April fools day? Its not a big deal, but since we get to chose anyway, I thought maybe we should switch to the 2nd. I dunno. I'm like over worrying now. But on the plus side, I completely finished my hospital bag tonight. Wasn't all the way before... (procrastinator!! )
