Specialist Appointment

We went out of town for my specialist appointment yesterday and to be honest-- I'm not even sure why I had to go. It was a 5 minute appointment [literally] and he didn't say much. He did, however, request that I double my dosage for my BP medicine and I said I would do so.

BUT GOOD NEWS! I can deliver at the hospital I want to deliver at... the only problems are that there are no epidurals or cesarean sections which is fine by me. If a problem arises they'll fly my out to the next hospital but I'm sure it will go smoothly. WATER BIRTH FOR ME yayyyy.

DH is feeling better because he won't have to take two weeks off of work to travel to the city and wait until the LO arrives, now we can just take off as soon as labour starts and he doesn't have to take time off. It would've been pricey to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks. Anyways.... I'm happy lol!

How exciting! I was hoping I'd be able to at least relax in the water birthing tub at my hospital, but not all the rooms have them, so who knows now! You are lucky! Is your BP just high and that's why they have you on medication?

Congratulations!

Especially with getting the birth you've wanted!

Our hospital has the whirlpool tubs in every room, but we won't be having a full fledged water birth . Those sound so lovely.

But I will get the relief of the hot water tub, so

The hot water tub will definitely help out quite a bit for pain relief. I've heard wonderful things

Yeah, for the past few weeks my BP has been slightly elevated so they want to keep watch of it and just keep it within normal levels.

That is really great news, I am so glad.

I am planning on using the hot tub myself in the hospital I will be delivering.
Not sure I want it to be a water birth, but I definitely plan on using it as a pain management option.
