Summer holiday with baby?

As we will all have little babies pretty soon, I just wondered if any of you are still going away on holiday for a little break this summer.

We usually go to Cyprus every year to see my family but as we will have the baby this year I thought Cyprus would be to hot for him and I was a bit worried about taking him on a 5 hour plane journey..

But we still wanted to have a holiday, so its sunny Cornwall for us this year, we're going at the end of August, the baby will be around 3 1/2 months old. We're going with daddies family and I'm really looking forward to it.. We're staying in a big massive caravan and will have a decent size double room..

However, I'm a bit worried about the baby keeping everyone up all night and I hope it won't be to stressful for me... Daddy says it will be such fun and that we will cope just fine..

Do any of you have any plans for this summer?

As my OH is from sweden we are planning to go there in July when LO will be 1 and a half months old. Luckily i shouldn't be that hot though and it's only an hour by plane.
LO's travel fine, just think they will sleep most of the time and will not get bored like a toddler

My OH has a lot of family in the Isle of White, including Juniors Great Great Grandma, who turns 90 in July, so we should be over there for her birthday celebrations and for her to meet her great great grandson!

We'll also be in Newcastle with my family for a week or so after he is born.

Thats about it

I will be going to Cape Town,South Africa for summer and that is a 10 hour flight. Babies usually sleep on flights (unless they have colic). It's the toddlers that create the most havoc onboard! As long as your baby's tummy is full and his/her bum is dry,it's all good. I'm talking out of experience....I've been cabin crew for 7 years and have seen hundreds of babies.

My DH's cousin is getting married in Sheffield in August, so we are thinking of heading over for that. The baby will be aboout 2 1/2 months old. Being from Texas, heat is a given for us, so the UK will be a welcome break. Plus I will get to see all of our friends in London, who I miss oh so much! My bff has assured me it is soooo much easier to travel when the baby is little.

No vacation for us here. DH is using his vacation time to stay at home for a week after Peanut is born. After I'm feeling up to it we may go to the aquarium and bring bubs with us (we went there to celebrate after we found out I was pg) so that would be cool. It's only about 40 minutes away, so doesn't really qualify as a vacation, but should be fun anway!

We have a week booked in sunny Scarborough at the end of September! Lo will be around 5 months then so hopefully we wont upset their routine too much and they'll sleep quite happily in strange surroundings (fingers crossed anyways!!)
