I was definitely overdue with my first and did have to get induced. But, for each person, it varies greatly.

See this gets to me- all this inducing business.

Babies will come out when they are ready and cooked. Fair enough if there is enough proof to show baby is in distress or suffering then thats totally different but some Drs/MW's jump at doing an induction when a woman goes over her due date.

Pregnancy is not in the least text book and i know when i come to it i will only let them induce me if there are any complications with babys or my own health.

Ask if it is really necessary as most occassions im sure they will say they will just monitor you more. Surely its better to leave nature be so long as there is no risk to baby of yourself.

My best friend got induced with both her children because she was a week over with both,no complications just thought they would! which brought on a more painful labour with each.and after the babies came out the Mw both times said that the baby could have done with another week cooking.

I thought they induced women 2 weeks after their due date because toxemia can become a factor if baby is in too long?
