My sweep is booked for 23 Dec (40+3) which, in reality, means I'm likely to have a xmas day baby (reading up sweeps can take 1-2 days before anything happens). Going to see the GP this Friday, might try the "does the NHS really want me in hospital on xmas day?" idea and see if I can get it moved forward a few days.

At least they've booked you in for one Hun

It really upsets me as I'm seeing a consultant due to my gallstones, and they've told me to go bk at 40+2 to see them. I asked if because of the medical reasons, could I have a sweep then?? They told me no....they won't interfere in 1st time Mums until at least 41 weeks. Even with a medical reason.

I just said to OH if I have to (after my EDD) I'll eat sooo much chocolate that I have a gallstone attack and go into hospital, they'll have to do something then. Grrrrr

I agree, I might be moaning about the date, but at least I've got a date to aim to. I would be even more annoyed if I didn't.

Hopefully neither of us will need a sweep and we'll have been worrying about nothing. Come on boys, out you come!

I would like baby to make an appearance next week. This sounds silly but I have a long overdue hair appointment tomorrow (finally have time and can "just" waddle down there still) and I'd hate to cancel it (well they might charge me?!). Of course LO is so much more important than my hair so I won't mind really if he makes an appearance. Saying all this, I bet he's all content in there and I will have to wait 3 more weeks. I don't think I'm allowed to go over EDD because of the polyhydramnios - maybe the pressure of the extra amniotic fluid will start me early? Plus I have highish bp too. Oh well, we shall see.

I've been like that since about 37 weeks. Second trimester went very quickly, as did everything up until 37 weeks. But these last four have just dragged, and I've started getting really hormonal about wanting her here now... I'm even starting to get slightly soppy and sentimental about the whole thing - who knew I had human emotions afterall?!

As hard as it is, the baby will be here eventually. In the grand scheme of things, there isn't that long left. Even if there is another three weeks, that's less than four weeks, so it's a move in the right direction, at least!

Hope it happens soon for you though...
