Baby Alex born on the 4th, very poorly!

Just wanted to let you all know i gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who we've called Alex on the 4th dec at 11.57pm weighting 9lb 6oz!

All was well and we came out of hospital on saturday afternoon, Alex had alot of mucus which we we're told he would bring up and we were not worried as our youngest daughter had the same!

Sunday morning the mw came for our first check up and was not happy with his breathing so called the hospital and was told to call an ambulance to take us straight to the royal alexandra childrens hospital in brighton!

I've never been so scared, when we got there they started putting tubes down his nose and drips in both hands, taking blood, everything you can think of they did to my then 1 1/2 day old baby!

We are still waiting for alot of the blood results but they have said he has an infection in his lungs and needs a machine to help him breath! tonights the first time i've come home as my other kids keep asking for me so i've left my wonderful husband there looking after our little son! I'll be going back in the morning but thought while the kids are in bed i would pop on and let everyone, especially any sparklers that are still around, know that baby Alex has indeed arrived and i just wish i could use the words happy and healthy!

For all the sparkler ladies that we're overdue like me and waiting around please, please let me know how you all are, im asuming you would have all gone in to be induced now and would love to hear babies have arrived safely

Congratulations on the birth; I'm sure everything will be fantastic once he's home, all safe and sound. Must be horrible seeing him like that, but at least you know he's getting all fixed up, and that everything was caught in time.

Congratulations on the birth of little Alex. I'm sorry he's poorly at the moment but it sounds like he's getting the best care and will be home safe and sound soon.
