pelvic size is the key rather than baby size, well according to my sil midwife. She was just over 5 feet tall and pushed out my niece at just over 11lbs. I have had 4 sections and feel it is a major op, would have loved to have gone home from hospital the next day

I had a c-section and not been able to hold your baby without calling a midwife to help you is horrible. Plus you have to stay in hospital 3 days which isn't the greatest. And the worse part I'm finding is not been able to drive.

i had no choice and was given an emergency section but wouldn't want another!!!

i had a csection with my first and they are no picnic. They scheduled me for another csection with this LO just because of the slight risk involved with VBAC since this one is measuring bigger that my first son did.

I've heard that bigger babies are actually easier to give birth to naturally because they kind of help themselves come out...i don't know if it's true or not though!

It is true in most cases (unless too big too fit). The extra weight means they put more pressure onto the cervix etc where as small/premmie babies tend to float up and down so the pressure is not as good.

I'm not too sure they would do a section on the nhs because you ask for it. They are kind of a last resort. You will need to see a consultant for a decision as it is not up to the midwife. Hope you get it sorted. xx

Have anyone been through the same or anything or any advise at all?
A C-section is more serious than ectopic surgery. Its major surgery so more high risk during and post delivery compared to ectopic. They cut through wider layers of tissue, muscles, uterus etc with increased bleeding and risk of infection, the recovery is different.

Your scan will reveal whether your baby is on the 90, 95 even 100 centile but there are woman with Gestation diabetes, massive babies who are advised vaginal delivery, not section.
