what does this mean?


At my MW appointment on thursday baby was 3/5 ceph .. on saturday when the MW came to my house he was 4/5 ceph , does this mean hes moved back up or is he moving down? iv been having some really bad pressure like feeling in my lady bits, kind of like its badly bruised? sorry lol .. i hope hes wriggling down and not back up, im hoping for my baby before christmas lol!!

any ideas? xx

it depends if your mw are using 3/5 and 4/5 palpable meaning how much of the head is above the brim of your pelvis or if they are saying 3/5 or 4/5 engaged.

If they are saying palpable then your little one is moving up as they could feel 3/5 of their head on the 1st appt and 4/5 above the brim on the Saturday. Opposite if they are using fifths engaged.

Hmm i have no idea it just says ceph 3/5 ceph 4/5 .. ill have to ask again when i see her thursday im praying that hes not wriggling back up the lil buga x

is it like my maternity notes book where they write all that stuff is in columns like headed urine, bp etc and the column where they write 3/5 or 4/5 is titled palp?

no she just scribbles it down .. all it says is :

36+6 Urine NAD B/P 120/78 ceph 4/5 FHHR FM

these notes are like another language to me lol x

ah well, it may even just be different mw measuring it differently.....

i wouldnt worry if he has moved back up a little, they can bob about a bit, he's still got time to move back.

come on little man get wriggling down! my tickers saying 19 days and i can bet my bottom doller he will be just like mammy and turn up fashionably late lol.. keep my fingers crossed he gets a wriggle on down x
