Swine Flu Jab Wednesday, little worried!

Hello girls

I am booked in for my swine flu jab on Wednesday and I am strating to feel pretty worried about it.

How many of you have had it??

When I first heard it came out and that we could have them I was 110% against having it but then had second thoughts and I was all for it but now I am just worried xx

havent had it yet but i was really worried about getting the jab as well i thought i had a strong immune system and didnt want the jab, then i got swine flu last monday and im still poorly although much better as i was admitted to hospital for 2 days, i developed a chest infection and had to be put on strong antibiotics, i couldnt even lift my head of the pillow for 5 days, all im trying to say is even if there is a couple of mild side effects its nothing compared to the actual bug which is so scary, Im having my jab on thursday and carnt wait now.

(this is just my personal point of view after getting swine flu myself, before i had it i was anti jab as well) xxxxx

Hi Sweetie,

For ages I was like I am defo not having it, having had 3 m/cs but called my specialist and he urged me to have it done....

Had it approx 3 weeks ish all I had was a sore arm for a day, when I was sat in the waiting room there were lots of ickle children having it done to Also 2 of my other preggy friends have had it and all appears to be ok, my LO has been been moving fine since then.

Good luck x x x x

I had mine about a month ago - my hubby and son had theirs two weeks ago, although my son goes back next week for his second (kids under 3 get two shots).
I am all for it. I trust the advice I get from my doctor and my best friend who is a public health nurse and gives the shots from sun up to sun down. 6% of the swine flu deaths have been pregnant women; this is actually a very large percent when you consider the percentage of pregnant women at any given time. Us preggos make up a very small percentage of the population, yet 6% of the deaths. It may not sound significant but it is. As far as I am concerned it is very very important for all pregnant women to get the vaccine. There have been many people who have died from the flu, but no one has died from the vaccine. It is worth the sore arm for a couple days.

I've had it aswell hun and me and baby are both fine. I was dead against it aswell but I changed my mind, glad I did. You will just have a sore arm for a couple of days. I don't regret it at all xx

I had mine last thursday and felt absolutely fine afterwards apart from a sore arm and a red lump where the injection had gone it - but this is nearly back to normal now.

I wasn't 100% convinced whether I should have it or not - but then I was off one day and stood behind a woman in the post office who was coughing her guts up and my first thought was 'I hope she doesn't have swine flu' and I covered my nose!! I decided that somewhere deep inside I must have some concerns so decided to go ahead.

I am also a scientist and really researched into the safety of the vaccine and it is 100% safe - there are no extra risks associated with it than with the normal flu vaccine which pregnant women routinely get in some countries.

I am definitely pleased I decided to have it - I am relieved I don't have to spend the next few weeks worrying about being around people!! x
