38 docs appointment

hiya i am going to see my gp tomorrow for my 38 week appointment does anyone know what they do etc xxx

My doc just checked my blood pressure and urine. Had a feel of my bump and that was it. No different from any of the others.

I had mine yesterday, just what Firkin said really.

Did the usual blood pressure and urine checks. Took a fundal height measurement and listened for the heartbeat. She also had a feel for the baby's head and told me that he/she isn't engaged yet. And also booked me a sweep (if I want) at my next appointment (40 weeks).

Then we just had a good chat about labour and what to expect, and what will happen afterwards ie/ midwife & health visitor visits etc.

my 38 wk MW appt was the same as all the others, quick chat, urine, BP, feel and listen to tummy.

On the basis that I didn't have one I was assuming it was just the same as all the others. I saw mw at 37 weeks who booked me for sweep at 40+3 if I need it and told me to see GP at 39, so I was guessing it was just a normal check up.

well went to my appointment was no more than 15 mins min blood pressure ,check sample, listen to baby and have a feel of my tum any worries then finished xx
