Is sex ok?

I know this might sound stupid... but I want to ask anyway.

I had sex with my boyfriend last night and after my baby started kicking and moving around like mad and my belly kept going really tight and i really thought I was going to give birth! I could see her moving around loads, but when I got up and started walking around the pains stopped and she calmed down.

Is having sex safe? It wouldn't have hurt her would it?

I was worried afterwards, but today she's been fine and has been kicking as usual, and i've had no more pains.

Sorry if this sounds silly. xx

Sex is GREAT!!

No, really, sex is fine (unless your doc has told you otherwise). What you experienced sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions (practice, non labor contractions). Sometimes with the cervix gets stimulated, or when the uterus is stimulated by an orgasm, BH will follow.

Remember you get good 'love' hormones from BD'ing and the baby feels those rhythmic contractions like hugs. Baby isnt' traumatized or damaged in any way. The only problems that may occur is pre-labor (IF you are already primed for it- which your doc would tell you) or if you were already in pre-labor (your waters broke) and infection was introduced. Both very rare in non problematic pregnancies.

If you are still unsure please contact your doc or MW

Unless your doc has said otherwise, sex should be fine. I've been feeling like a pervert my whole pregnancy cause it's all I've wanted and LO is just fine! Enjoy!

I agree with the others. Sex is perfectly safe during pregnancy (as long as your doctor hasn't advised against it--which they would do if you were bleeding).

Like the other girls said, sex is def ok unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. All babies are different, some get rocked to sleep by your movements, some get waken up. I've also experienced BH's after sex, but they go away after a little bit. Dont worry, and enjoy sex while you still can! =)

Having sex makes your uterus contract even when you aren't pregnant, so you notice it a lot more when you are. I've noticed my tummy gets REALLY hard afterwards.
