How many of you ladies have/had low lying placenta

I went for my scan today and was told my placenta is practically covering my cervix....how many of you ladies were told this and then went on to find out the placenta had moved later on? I'm petrified of operations cause the last one nearly killed me and really don't want a C-Section

Hi there - I had a low-lying placenta at my 12w and 20w scans. I got a scan at 32w to see if it had moved and it had. Everything worked out great - I wouldn't worry too much yet - apparently most low-lying placentas move up and out of the way by the time LO comes along!
xx

Mine was low...they didnt say it was covering my cervix though and that was at 18 weeks.

Mine moved up enough for baby to get his head underneath it though by 36 weeks so all is well.

More often then not as your uterus grows they shift around a lot.

I'm sure your MW will be keeping a close eye on you, try not to worry.

Mine is covering so i have to have a scan at 36 weeks to see if it has moved. I've gotten used to the idea though so too be honest i'm not worried if I have to have a c-section or not. I'm petrified of surgery but baby has to come out somehow right

I have one but it is just near the cervix, not covering it. I have to have a scan at 25 weeks. They told me that in the majority of cases it moves up so I am not worrying now.
