I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm sure they would be fine about it... they take drunken people and i'd say they were more risky of making a mess, if you know what i mean |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think taxi as well. That's probably what we'll be doing (unless I go into labor during rush hour, at which point it'd probably be faster to take public transit ) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Taxi for us! But if it's rush hour, I'm calling the ambulance... I live 20 mins drive from the hospital, but I live right next to downtown Montreal + the bridge, traffic is a NIGHTMARE ! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | If it happens during the week when my husband works nights, taxi it is...any other time when he is with me..he will be driving.
I actually live on the same street where the hospital is, but it is a 10 minute drive. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We are 30 mins from the hospital. If it's during the day I'll have to have a relative take me, and meet my husband in town. Otherwise DH will have to take me |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think a taxis the best option anyway if you can't get a lift.
If you were to go in your own car then you'd be messing about finding somewhere to park and walking to the hospital and then you don't know how long your OH going to be there, don't want to be clamped etc. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm on a FD and trust me...we treat labor as an EMERGENCY. Not sure what they do over where y'all are...but here..it's considered a SERIOUS emergency (trust me..we don't want to deliver a baby in the back of the rig). At least if you go by ambulance there is medical personelle and equipment in case something (God forbid) should happen. Is the taxi driver going to know how to deliver your baby or help you should the need arise? Nope! The EMTs and Paramedics (not sure what y'all call us!) know how and have the L&D kits in their rigs...and we're trained. Plus..it's nice to have a call that doesn't involve a car accident or someone dying... |

I'm pretty sure anywhere in the US, a woman in labor is an ambulance emergency. But medical coverage and insurance coverage are also very different. So any US ladies reading this should check with their insurance companies to see what their options are if they don't have a ride to the hospital for whatever reason. |
