| Ok, I think I am psycho.... Let me explain. As some of you know from previous posts, I get this rash on my left hand every winter, but it goes away instantly with my steroid cream. Since becoming pregnant, the excema has flared up and I was advised not to use my regular cream. Recently though, I visited my dermatologist and he told me I could now take the cream. As some of you know, I was advised to take it, but decided not to (haha, I know), because my OB called back 2 days later telling me that it does cause growth problems and premature birth. For some reason though, it has been getting better on my left hand and is not as problematic as it was.
The reason for this post is because I've recently been reading all these posts about Obstetric Cholestasis. I'm beginning to drive myself crazy with the worry that this really isn't excema and instead it is the OC. Now, I've dealt with this rash all through this pregnancy, but with each week that's gone by it was getting progressively worse. Now it is at a standstill. I'm not severly itching, but I do itch, since that is a sign of excema. I have no other symptoms of obstetric cholestasis, but I'm just deathly afraid that my doctors have written this off as excema when it could be something else. I only have the rash on the backs of my hands and a few patches on my arms. What do you ladies think? Am I totally insane? haha, I honestly think I am. |
